Fr. Andrew Brummett was ordained a priest in March 2010 at his home parish, St. Francis Anglican Church in Austin. He served as a deacon and curate at the Chapel of the Cross in Dallas, focusing on youth, choir, and evangelism. From January 2012 until October 2014, he served as the rector of the Chapel of the Living Water in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates while working for Oasis Hospital, a Christian mission hospital established in 1960.
After spending some time at the Texas Legislature in Austin fighting for every family’s ability to afford quality education for their children, Fr. Andrew and his family moved back to the Dallas area where he entered a second vocation as a classical school teacher. He helped start Founders Classical Academy of Flower Mound after the Barney Charter School Initiative of Hillsdale College trained him in effective and excellent methods of teaching. He has taught all subjects to grade 5, pre-algebra to grade 7, and science to grade 8. He is certified in Texas to teach all four core subjects to grades 4 through 8 and English and history to grades 9 through 12.
Fr. Andrew holds degrees in English and history from UT-Austin (B.A., 2003), history from Texas A&M (M.A., 2006), and theology from Dallas Theological Seminary (Th.M., 2012). He is married to Jessica, and they have five children.
